On August 7, CCIG and Foton Times formed a joint delegation to Uzbekistan for a six-day overseas market inspection. The aim was to gain an in-depth understanding of the local market environment, automotive industry policies and regulations, and industry trends, while also conducting on-site visits and in-depth exchanges with several potential partners. Through integrating resources and pursuing diversified industrial cooperation, the delegation sought to accelerate CCIG’s overseas strategy and improve its layout in the Central Asian region.

The delegation first visited the Chinese Embassy in Uzbekistan. Counselor Sun warmly welcomed them and noted that Uzbekistan has experienced rapid economic development since implementing reform and opening policies. He encouraged Chinese enterprises to seize the opportunity to invest and develop overseas, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive analysis and long-term planning. He added that Chinese enterprises should tell China’s story well and set a good example—achieving business success while contributing to the development of Uzbekistan’s automotive industry.

The delegation conducted field research at commercial vehicle usage sites, including the Absakhei market, the Samarkand distribution center, small commodity city logistics hubs, Coca-Cola Group, and the Tashkent textile wholesale market. Findings indicated that Japanese and Korean commercial vehicles still dominate the market, particularly in the second-hand vehicle sector. However, Chinese products are rapidly increasing their market share thanks to their strong price-performance advantage, though customers expect higher standards in after-sales service and spare parts availability.

The group also visited Chinese automobile dealers such as BYD, Changan Kaicene, and FAW Jiefang. Discussions revealed that sales in the local market are growing rapidly, and localization has become an inevitable option due to regulatory requirements. After extensive field research, the delegation gained a comprehensive understanding of the Uzbekistan market.

Additionally, the delegation visited the HAN factory, exploring showrooms for new vehicles, Chinese brands, Toyota, and after-sales service centers. The three parties held strategic discussions and reached consensus on complementary advantages, resource sharing, and diversified cooperation to explore new overseas development paths together.

The joint development of the Uzbekistan market marks a deeper stage in CCIG and Foton Times’ strategic partnership. The two parties have already piloted industrial cooperation in Cambodia and Nigeria and agreed to carry out comprehensive collaboration in overseas expansion and localized manufacturing. Leveraging their respective advantages, they aim to accelerate project development.

Looking ahead, both sides will continue to strengthen their partnership, seize new opportunities in overseas business development, and build a new ecosystem for global industrial chain cooperation.
