Going Global | BAIC Foton and China City Industry Group Hold High-Level Talks to Deepen Strategic Cooperation

On April 25-26, Liu Xuguang, Vice President of BAIC Foton Motor Co., Ltd. and President of the Times Business Department, led a delegation to visit and exchange ideas with China City Industry Group(Hereinafter referred to as CCIG). The delegation was warmly received by Gu Yifeng, Chairman of CCIG; Simone Tassi, Vice President and Overseas Director; Wang Zhihua, Vice Chairman of China City Automotive; and Xu Guanghui, Executive General Manager of China City International Trade.
Liu Xuguang and his team visited CCIG’s Fenhu Starship Super Factory and Suzhou Dianzhong Fuel Injection Technology Co., Ltd., where they gained firsthand insights into the company’s overall scale, strategic planning, and production processes. They praised the Group’s achievements in smart transportation and intelligent lifting industries in recent years, affirming its strong growth momentum and forward-looking industrial layout.

During the symposium, Gu Yifeng expressed sincere gratitude and a warm welcome to Liu Xuguang’s delegation. He provided a comprehensive overview of CCIG, with a particular focus on its overseas business expansion and progress. Liu Xuguang acknowledged the Group’s global strategy and expressed confidence in future in-depth cooperation between the two parties.

In a three-hour discussion, both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on overseas strategic planning and collaboration. They reached a consensus on overseas strategic cooperation between BAIC Foton and China City Automotive, with plans to swiftly implement joint initiatives in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Europe. By leveraging their respective resources and regional advantages, they aim to accelerate the development of overseas projects.
CCIG and BAIC Foton have a long-standing partnership. Their most recent collaboration dates back to 2023 with the joint investment in the “China City Industrial Northern Base Project,” also known as China City Automotive (Shandong) Co., Ltd.

This project is an international high-end equipment manufacturing industrial cluster integrating R&D, production, sales, after-sales, and supporting industrial parks for emergency equipment and specialized vehicles. With joint efforts, the project successfully commenced production in late April 2024, achieving milestones—from signing and finalizing the agreement to the unveiling and the first batch of vehicle roll-offs—in less than six months.
Notably, through the China City Automotive project, BAIC Foton and CCIGhave rapidly expanded into both domestic and overseas markets, particularly in urban operations, emergency equipment, intelligent lifting systems, and high-end specialized vehicle exports. By synergizing customer development, refining market segments, and strengthening partnerships, they have jointly built a “centralized, platform-based, intelligent, connected, and open” ecosystem for specialized vehicles.

During the meeting, both parties recognized the achievements of the China City Automotive project in specialized vehicle superstructures and supply chain collaboration. They also set clear cooperation goals for 2025 in specialized and general-purpose vehicle sectors, with quarterly evaluations to ensure progress. Finally, they conducted detailed discussions on new factory construction and tanker manufacturing capabilities, pledging to accelerate project incubation and enhance production efficiency through resource synergy and technological empowerment.
