The world’s first Hydrogen-Powered Smart Tram exported to Malaysia

The world’s first hydrogen-powered smart tram was shipped from the port of Shanghai on July 21 to Malaysia, and it is expected to arrive at the destination half a month later.

The order size is nearly 2 billion yuan, including 38 hydrogen smart rails.The tram uses a 70 MPa hydrogen storage system and a high-power fuel cell system, allowing the driving range to reach 245 kilometers. The distributed power system is applied featuring a more compact structure, lighter weight and increased power, ensuring the tram can provide Kuching citizens a more comfortable and faster travel experience.

The tram has been optimized in structure design and material technology, so that the performance of the tram is more suitable for the local climate.Both of these routes are scheduled to begin operation starting from 2026 and 2027.respectively.



The world’s first hydrogen-powered smart tram will be used for urban transport services in Kuching, capital of Sarawak in Malaysia.
